Default Physician H1b Approved - Question

hey all,

Been off here for a while, sorry. I matched into residency in the US and my cap exempt H1b has been approved. Do I still need a national interest exemption to enter the country? Clearly as a physician my role is essential for the pandemic so dont see that as an issue, more so whether I actually need to go the process or not

Thanks

The Department of State also continues to grant NIEs for qualified travelers seeking to enter the United States for purposes related to humanitarian travel, public health response, and national security. These travelers and any others who believe their travel to be in the United States’ national interest should also review the website of the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate for instruction on how to contact them.
Sounds like you just need to evidence your future involvement with treating Covid.

Yes. As an H-1B holder you need a National Interest Waiver.

The user name ukmd was a bit of a give away, although md is more or a US term. ukmbchb would not have the same ring to to…
