my parents are going to the usa this month. currently, they are holding a tourist visa. they have a pending/hanging u.s. immigrant application. having such application, would this cause a revocation of their tourist visas if they enter the united states? will they be allowed to enter the u.s. if the immigration officer might know about their status?

What's their petition based on? What forms were filed? Will they be immigrating on their next visit? Have they filed their immigrant paperwork with the consulate or do they plan to adjust inside the US?

If they are planning to move to the US on their visit, then the tourist visa is not valid for entering the US.

it's very complicated as been laid out and depends on their current status. I think they can use the visa waiver the only bad time to travel is when the application is approved. Traveling might ruin the approval.
