Can one get a H4 visa for parents that are dependent on you (H1B holder ) ? My wife
already is in US with me on H4. My parents are in India and for monetary purposes
dependent on me.

Thanks

H-4 dependent status is available only to the spouse and unmarried children under the age
of 21 of the principal alien. This definition of "dependent" has nothing to do with
monetary dependency.

As Sylvia said, parents don't qualify. If they depend on you financially, INS would argue
that you can simply wire money to India.

Once you are a US citizen, you can sponsor your parents for a Green Card - but not earlier
than that.
