Default Panic Disorder

I want to ask something very important: I have Panic Disorder , for the past 3 months is getting worst and i can`t go out far from my house, I had an appointment with BCIS this week to get my work permitt and i needed to call and reschedulle because i am feeling very bad, the BCIS office is 1 hour from my house. My question : There are something that i can do to talk to help me? What i suppose to do since i am feeling so scared and can`t travel there to get my documents? ( marriage based visa)I am very lost and very scared!!
Thanks

I really feel for you. Some of the steps we all go through in this process are hard enough without having a panic disorder as well.

I'm not sure if you are self-diagnosing or if you have already sought help for this problem. If it's the latter then I'm not sure I can give any advice that a professional may not have already given.

If you haven't seen anyone about this problem then maybe you should think about seeing a counselor or trained professional. I imagine this sort of thing can be very debilitating especially if it is not addressed. At the very least have you looked at the information provided on the Internet about panic disorders? I just did a quick search on google.com and there seems to be plenty of information and advice that you may find interesting and supportive.

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&i...panic+disorder

In the mean time, does your spouse know about your feelings? Can your husband/wife, or even a friend, accompany you to the BCIS office this time? Perhaps this support would help get you through this step. Just the worry of this particular pending appointment may be worsening you symptoms. Once you have that out of the way perhaps you will feel a little stronger and more capable.

Perhaps the fact that you are new to this country and do not have much structure in your life could also be contributing. I must admit that I adored the sanctuary of our home in the first 6 months I was here. As I wasn't working and hadn't met many friends I found myself staying home a lot more than I ever have before and this became very comforting after a while.

I'm not pretending to know the answers but just wanted you to know that I cared. I hope you find some help, just like you have asked here, don't be afraid to ask for it elsewhere either.

Do any other posters have experience with this?

Susan

I find that smoking large amounts of pot helps out... I am not a doctor, not do I play one on TV, but I wonder, is your disorder self-diagnosed or have you seen a doctor about it? Sometimes we have to fight for the things in life that are important to us. If you can not find the strenth to do it for yourself, find it for the one that you love.

klalmoon, I feel very sympathetic towards your disorder I was wondering if you have any good, supportive, friends or family around you that would help you get to your interview. Just to come by your house and take you, staying with you through as much of the process as possible. I think it would help you feel better if you didn't have to go it alone. Wishing you the very best of luck

Please discuss this with a doctor!!! There are MANY things that can be done to address panic/anxiety disorders and the sooner you find help, the better and easier it will be. Don't let this settle in to the point you cannot leave your house, get help with it now! Please understand that you aren't alone with what you are experiencing either - anxiety disorders are very common - and they CAN be overcome. I wish you all the very best in dealing with this!

There are alot of very nice and caring people here and although they may not be experiencing what you are, are still concerned and wish you well I'm glad you're seeing someone about this, as you never need to feel you have to suffer, alone. I'm sure you'll be fine and accomplish what you need One day at a time...

Klalmoon,

I can understand that you are in a very difficult time. Hopefully it will
help you knowing that many many others go through depression, panic
disorders, eating disorders - and the time comes where this is behind them.
You will find out. Just do what the doctors tell you to do, whether you
think it's any good or not. Most know what they are doing.

Best wishes,
Christa

i have suffered with panic attacks in the past so i know what your going through, my advice (for what its worth) is go see your doctor and talk to him/her about your problem, you might be prescribed a medication like xanax which works immediatly or a med like celaxia which works slower but stays in your system for longer, i hope this helps, good luck

I think that Tony Saprano also had this problem and the xanax was a big help.

Unless you are this poster's doctor you should refrain from recommending any potential psychoactive drugs. What you are suggesting is dangerous. Please leave it to a professional.

I just took Paxil for 2 years and didn`t work for me, by the way I want to thank everybody here for your concern and now my worry is if BCIS will accept my reschedulle and understand my problem. I won`t lie if they asked me because when i called to reschedulle I told the Costumer service about my problem and I don`t know if this will interfere on my process (US marriage based visa).
Hugs
