out of country during oath ceremony?

I am leaving the country for two weeks next month. According to my Congressman
inquiry on my pending N-400 application, my petition is in final review and I will
likely be called in for an oath ceremony sometime next month. There is high chance
this will occur while I am out of the country and I *cannot* change my travel plans
at this stage of the game.

What are the consequences of missing an oath ceremony and how quickly will the INS
schedule me for another one?

IMHO, it's kind of ridiculous to have to wait 3 months between the interview (Feb 13)
and the oath ceremony. When I originally planned my trip 2 months ago, I assumed I
would be called in for the oath within a matter of weeks after my interview. I guess
the Milwaukee INS is not as efficient as other offices.
