Hi~ I am looking for a comany which can sponsored me H-1B visa and my OPT(Optional
Practical Training) will due on 6/30/2002. I know the application of H-1B visa takes
time. What if I get a offer and it only have two or three month left to the deadline
of my OPT? Will that be a problem if the OPT is due and my application is still in
processing?

Thanks!

It should be OK if you get your H-1B application file# from INS before 06/30/02, You
still have legal status though you can not start to work.

Hi, I am in the same situation as you are, except that my OPT expires on 8/31/02. I
was looking at the INS website and there seems to be an express H1B processing
service that started July 2001. It is an extra $1000, but the website claims a
processing time of only 15 days. Hope that helps
