And you won't have ready access to British cask-conditioned ale, so you should set up your own brewing operation rather than punish your customers with crappy keg versions of their British favourites. (Brewpubs are all the rage over here but there are next to no British-style ones).

If you could place yourself in Orange County CA, that would be greatly appreciated

You cannot have a British pub in the US because Americans don't go to pubs in the way that Brits do. Plus the fact that they usually have bars on the windows to keep the under-21s out makes for a very unwelcoming atmosphere.

Worse still, the ones that are here are frequented by reprobates like me.

To the OP: here in Redmond there is an establishment called the British Pantie (OK, so it's Pantry, really) that a couple of friends of ours run. It's been open since the '70s, and does very good business. A couple of years ago they added on The Three Lions, which is supposed to be a pub. It's not, it's a bar, and it doesn't feel like a pub, either. It is well frequented, but it ain't a pub. In fact, I've never seen anything like a real pub in the almost 12 years I've spent in the US.
If you can pull it off, come to W. Washington, please.

E2 is the visa from hell. Only the lawyers on this board seem to be enthusiastic about it -- which must tell you something!
No idea if it'd qualify for an EB5 but the amount of money you're going to have to spend is up there with the cost of opening a pub. Great visa if you've got the dosh.
L1 is also a good way of getting over if you qualify. You need a substantial and running business in the UK as your first hurdle.
