Old J-1 visa - no information available
 

Hi all, so my E-2 visa is being processed and I'm trying to get everything in order for the interview. In the past (2002) I had a J-1 student visa and I declared this on my application form but it's dawned on me that I have no information or evidence of this anymore.

Any paperwork I used to have is long gone and I never thought it would be needed again. I don't have the old passport with it in either.

I can imagine being asked about it but am I required to have supporting documentation for it? I don't even remember the company I went through to get it.

Can anyone advise on this please?

This was 14 years ago... not only will it likely not be asked about, even if you are it won't matter that you no longer have any documentation.

Thanks for that, puts my mind at ease. As usual I'm over thinking things I'm sure!

I took my old passport which had a J1 visa to my interview last month and offered it over to the officer with my other documentation. She told she didn't need it.
