O1 Visa Help. Worried about lawyer in working with
Hi evryone
I’ve posted on here before about having just started the O1 Visa process. I’m quite worried right now because it doesn’t seem the lawyer is doing much of the work - as in suggesting which projects I highlight or suggesting how to go about proving the awards I may have been part of. Some questions I’ve asked about some of the info he’s asking me to send over and about the letters of recommendation he hasn’t responded to.
I know they are busy with many clients but is this everyone’s experience?
In particular I’m looking to see if I can message with someone privately on here who has been through the same process, about the specifics of my case, namely documentation involved and how it’s been presented to see if it’s similar to what you’ve had.
I’m really concerned about it and don’t know if I can trust the documentation the lawyer is putting together

Lawyers all work differently...Mine asked that i send them absolutely everything (that was listed on resume) and they sifted through what they needed.
Mine asked for a list of who would be my references and our connection and they drafted the letters of recommendation (this was actually my reason for choosing them over another firm who expected me to send them in)
My lawyers were pretty quick in their responses
They also had a concise checklist from the get go on what to get them at each stage
Obviously it helps if they specialise in O visas

It is frustrating when you pay for a service and it is not going as fast or clearly as you think it should.
However, over the last decade BE has maintained that it is unwise for members to share privately advice on how to obtain visas. This is a pinned READ ME thread stating just why that is so. http://britishexpats.com/forum/us-im...stions-830699/
The forums are setup for you to use to converse with others with experience in the same visa you are attempting to obtain and if, by chance, the information is erroneous it can quickly corrected in an open forum.
If you truly feel that your relationship with your present attorney is not working out, then it is time to find another.
Wishing you luck in your attempt to obtain an O1 visa.

The last thing you need is 2 parties, one working for you in particular, not responding. You have no control over USCIS response times obviously, but you can pick another lawyer.
