If married to a USC, and all other requirements for naturalization are met, it's 3 years from the time you became a PR (whether conditional or not).

I'm scared to start researching for that yet. I'm afraid I'll jinx myself with the green card if I start going into stuff I'm not ready for.

So after 3 years of having the GC you can apply? So nothing to do previous to those 3 years?

Steffi,

If your first green card is conditional (married less than 2 years), then in 2 years you need to remove the conditions, then the following year you can apply for citizenship.

If your first green card is the 10-year one (married more than 2 years), then in 3 years you can apply for citizenship.

So it's 3 years from when you become a PR, and if you need to remove conditions, you need to do that 2 years after becoming a PR.

Remember the time frame is the 90-day window before the 2 year time for removing conditions. For citizenship, it's the 90-day window before 3 years, and anytime after that.

Clear as mud, right?

Hehe. Well, apparently I'll have the next 3 years to do it, so I think I'll have it covered. Well, if I ever get the GC that is... :P

You're so desirable that they'll probably back-date your PR.
