My petition was sent on May 8 to the NVC, and when I call the
automated number, there is no record of my info? I am sure that the
mail is not that slow! What is the deal? Do they just not enter the
data right away? I am confused by this? Also, does anyone have any
other info on NVC and why some people are only waiting for 1 or 2 or 3
days, and others are waiting for 2 and 3 months!!

I'd suggest you call back and talk to someone in person. When I called the NVC, I bypassed the automated system and talked to an operator who was very pleasant and told me when my file was received and when it was forwarded on to the consulate. I think I've seen other posts that the automated system there may not be working well yet. Best of luck!

I second Mikki.
Give them a little time. Those people at NVC seem to be professional and
take their job seriously. It took about a week for my petition to arrive at
NVC from BCIS in California.

The automated system is not updated at the NVC. My file was received on May 8th, also, and I found out that it was on it's way to London, as of May 12th, by talking to someone. The automated system still says that there is no record of my file. People at the NVC do not mind at all with letting you know the status. From what I understand, it depends on the country that your fiance(e) is from, as far as the time it stays at the NVC. And, if there needs to be any further background checks. Good luck!

The recorded message also says that for some SCs, MSC in particular that they are not set up for automated on that. You have to push 5 to get to talk to a live person. They were helpful and courteous everytime I called.
