Default Noob chiming in.

British expat newbie chiming in to say hello. Been a lurker for while and decided to register. Been living in central FL now for over 9 months and recently got my SS number and driving license. Looking for work currently, so any advice would be appreciated.

Thank for the welcome

Not really bothered to be honest, anything is fine, wouldn't mind working with other British expats. Never thought I'd say this but I really miss the British LOL. I was in I.T. and desktop support for 10+ years back in Blighty. However wouldnt mind anything that will allow me to flex my c/s talents and charm

@anotherlimy, not yet. Ive only recently got my SS and driving license. Im currently awaiting my green card interview. Can I still get a gun?

Surrrrrrrrre, you can pick one up at the corner. I've heard they're extremely cheap if you know the right person. In fact, I'm surprised they didn't issue you one when you came through immigration?

I thought anyone who is a lawful alien and has resided in the state for more than 90 days can purchase one. Im not really bothered to be honest, no rush to go out and buy a gun. Although I did thoroughly enjoy shooting various firearms at my local range sometime ago.

With hunting license and the 90 days residency you probably can, but if you really wanted to get one you should double check with the BATF.

Like I said Im in no rush. Ideally would be nice as it would save monies as I currently have to rent one out everytime I goto the range. In anycase, getting a job is the most important thing on my list currently

@Ray, yes, I think Im just a lawful alien resident?

What visa are you here on? If you haven't got a green card yet, then you're not an alien resident at all. You're just here on whatever visa you have.

I entered here on a VWP from UK and did an AOS. I recently got my EAD and temp SS papers and the advanced parole . Awaiting the USCIS interview to obtain a two year conditional green card.

@zebbs, Mmmmm What do I think of Florida? May I use my right to silence? Only kiddin' its okay, the bugs keep me company when Im lonely!
