Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application
For Melbark18and Rvee15and any others in similar circumstances following, I wanted to join the conversation and add my update.
I had my interview in London mid July ish, this would be my third waiver, the second time for the L1 visa I am currently on. Given the first 2 waivers took in the region of 5-7 months (2013 and 2015) I was pretty surprised to be told "it's been taking about a month", so I came away pretty happy.
7 weeks ish have passed and I'm not so happy anymore, I try to look at it in different ways and well, it's been 30 working days since the interview, so "about a month" too, probably grasping at straws.
It's cold stressful process for sure, just checking every day for "the email" and you do wonder, if there was some human error, did they lose my files etc but it's just a waiting game unfortunately.
Hang in there, and I'll update if I hear from my side.

Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application
morning everyone
I went to the embassy on the 10th August. I was told by the first person I saw 5 days turnaround (I didnt believe that for one minute) and then the 2nd person told by 2 weeks.
Now 5 weeks in and concerned to see some of you are still waiting from June and July
Has anyone else got any updates?
Going to the US next year and am now concerned how long this may take
Thanks all x

Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application
Can anyway help me. This thread has been really helpful throughout my journey.
I went for my interview on June 9th was recommended for the waiver. Aug 4th they emailed me to submit my passport. Aug 5th embassy received my passport & states that I should receive my passport back within 10 working days. Aug 23rd status changed to Approved, September 2nd status changed to AP, next day changed to Application received and nothing has changed since. What does this mean and how long can they hold my passport for as it’s been well over a month?
I hope someone replies to this soon! Many thanks,
Kamil

Based on the amount of time you've been waiting, I would try to contact the embassy and or the courier service DX directly. From reading threads above, it does seem like your status can change to 'administrative processing' when your passport is received and being processed, although your status seems to have jumped one further.
Try the info in this link below for the courier, I got there by following instructions/links on the embassy site, otherwise contact the embassy.

good luck

from what I gather from this thread, there was a period at the start of the year where people were recieving emails to submit passports within a 4-6 week turnaround. I believe this has now slowed back down and is taking longer. It’s very frustrating I know.
I guess each application is different too, depending on what visa you applied for, whether it’s your 1st or not etc. judging by this, it appears they don’t work through applications in order as some people who applied after me has received email already.
Hope you hear soon x

Re: Nonimmigrant Visa Waiver of Ineligibility Application
Have just collected my passport from the Chancery Lane DX office. Just a bit for back story as it might help some people. I have around a dozen convictions ranging from shoplifting, theft, possession of cannabis all the way up to a Robbery conviction. This is my most serious crime which I received a 3 year youth offenders prision sentence (as I was under 18 years old). Last conviction was in 2013.
I applied for a visa in 2019 in the Belfast office, was recommended for a waiver which was subsequently refused. Applied again and attended the London embassy in 2022, recommended for a waiver which was granted with a 1 year visa.
Attended US embassy - 8th April 2022
Email to submit passport - 9th May 2022
Passport dropped off at DX - 10th May 2022
Passport recieved at embassy - 11th May 2022
Email confirming visa issued and passport dispatched - 24th May 2022
Passport collected at DX Chancery Lane - 25th May 2022
