Yes totally agree. I played by the rules since then was honest about my mistake. Travelled to the us many times before. If I had realised the rules had been changed I would have applied early. I was told they always used to put it though but unfortunately they have to have a waiver now.

14 years old? I believe crimes committed when under the age of 18 should not require a waiver.

It's your responsibility to check the rules before you apply. Never assume anything, especially in relation to US immigration procedures.

If it helps I had my interview on 16th Aug, email requesting passport 31st October ( I was away on holiday) submitted passport 10th November and it's available for collection today. So all in all only 13 weeks for me which is super fast. Pretty arbitrary set of dates though because every case is different. This is my 2nd Visa waiver. Good luck

Hoping mine will be quick as I have had two 10 year visas in the past. Thanks for that they may be getting quicker. Was that the London office because I know Belfast is much quicker. Thanks again for replying

Just to make you aware, if you're being recommended for a waiver, any new visa won't be valid for 10 years. Five is the maximum they can give with a waiver.

Yes, was London. I was really surprised by the timings. Wondered if it was faster as I'd been given a waiver before. Collected today, is 5 year as others have stated. I guess I'll find out how this compares in 4.5 years when I apply for the next one! Best of luck

Generally not, main one is Immigrant vs Non Immigrant.
