ouch ian... :-(....just kidding....yeah so i'm a little crazy when it comes to immigration...i'll get over it.
SG and Jenney, I'll keep my fingers crossed and try not to worry too much...hey if it's rejected we still have until March to resubmit it...sure it'll be annoying but what the heck.
Happy Holidays!

To be fair it was for a different kind of petition (I-129F), a
mechanical imprint starting with "WAC" that was a valid receipt number for
me (most likely all the locations aren't up to that level of automation),
and well over a year ago...

Re: new fee for I-751 application
Ok, so I finished moving and am at my parents' house today (which is where my wife will be living when she gets back from Japan, and where I'm having USCIS send stuff). Lo and behold, they tell me my wife got a letter from immigration a while ago (postmarked Dec 13). Sure enough, it's the Notice of Action that extends her green card for another year. It was dated the 7th, which is the same day the check was cashed (I mailed the packet on the 4th Priority Mail, which takes 2 days).
Texas is so fast! And, the SRC number on the back of the check is the same number on the NoA. So, even though it's not on the online casefile system, it is the right number and is in the system somewhere. If you folks run into problems before you get an NoA, get that number off the check and call it in.
Just FYI, it said it will take at least 120 days to process and to call in 6 months if I haven't heard from them.
At least it's moving along faster than the I-485 did (though compared to a lot of folks, my wife sailed through that pretty quickly, as well).
Oh, and to keep it on topic...
The NoA mentioned that it received $205 from us. It didn't mention wanting any more. So, I think those of us that only paid $205 are fine for now. They may ask for it later, but they won't send your app back to you.

Congratulations on getting your NOA. Thank you for updating your information too. NSC seems to be slower than TSC on getting NOA sent out. Happy Holidays!!

Re: new fee for I-751 application
Well, I'll add our I-751 experience to this thread...
Wife mailed in her I-751 with the old fee on Dec 1 and, according to the receipt notice, it was officially received on Dec 5. The check was cashed around Dec 5 and the back of it doesn't have an application number (strangely enough). Shortly thereafter, wife received a proper receipt notice and two days later a biometrics appointment notice for early January. So all is well and they accepted the old fee. The I-751 was filed through the California Service Center.

Sounds great - at least the CSC is somewhat flexible.
btw, what's the "new" fee? I'm sending my I-751 to CSC in approx 4-6 weeks
(whenever I get my '06 taxes done, and get a copy of the birth certificate
of our new baby girl!..)
