Default New BCIS - who are checks payable to?

Hi

Getting ready to send off my AOS to Charlotte and I wanted to see who I should now make personal checks payable to.

I am going to risk doing the e-filing of I-765 employment authorization and hope it gets matchde with my AOS file in Charlotte. Will let you know how it works!!

Thanks for the ongoing support everyone.

I do not always trus the information from the BCIS helpline and I wanted to ask some newsgroupers about who to make AOS checks out to. Now i have a conflict.

BCIS say that it is now:
"Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services and Jay cent says it is still:
"Immigration and Naturalization Services".

On the AOS forms it still says "INS"
Can someone just clarify this for me......?

Thanks

Pete

Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services is the payee, usually, but
you need to check the section and
section of the office handling your application to confirm what forms of
payment is accepted.

http://www.immigration.gov/graphics/...fices/fees.htm
Paying Immigration-Related Fees After March 1, 2003
On March 1, 2003, the INS became a part of the Department of Homeland
Security. INS immigration fees for immigration services and benefits
previously payable to the "Immigration and Naturalization Service" should no
longer be made out to INS. They should now be made payable to the "Bureau of
Citizenship and Immigration Services." (Note: Payments that have already
been submitted made payable to the "Immigration and Naturalization Service"
will continue to be accepted.)

Other immigration-related fees (for example, bonds and applications for
SENTRI and PAL participation) should continue to be made payable to the
"Immigration and Naturalization Service" until further notice.

Before using the AOS forms, you have to go through the Form Entry Page
(FEPs), which contains information that is not reflected on the forms. For
I-485, the FEP is
http://www.immigration.gov/graphics/...orms/i-485.htm. Which
contains information that is current and the forms have not caught up to the
legislation.

Fee: $255, If you are applying for LIFE Act legalization, your fee is also
$255. Please consult the "Paying Fees" section of your local office or
Service Center page to learn which forms of payment are accepted. Acceptable
forms of payment may vary by office. A separate fee for fingerprinting may
also be required when the applicant is present in the United States. NOTE:
The fee for this application has changed from that shown in the form's
instructions.

Hi:

Inasmuch as lawyers file LOTS of applications, we were concerned about this very question. The regulations still say that the checks are to be made to "Immigration & Naturalization Service." However, that agency no longer exists.

In the transistion period, we were told by BCIS that essentially, anything goes. Our office makes the filing fees payable to "BCIS" and we've had no rejections yet.
