Naturalized citizen & visitor INS question
Hi: I have my naturalization (for US citizenship) scheduled at the end of May. I want
to marry a person who is on a visitor's visa .. any idea whether it is possible to include my fiance at this pointy in the application? TIA JG |
Re: Naturalized citizen & visitor INS question
You will have to wait till you become a citizen to be able to apply for her
Adjustement of status. You can go ahead and get married now. But there is one problem though. INS does not look kindly upon people who try to adjust status while on Visitor Visa(specially if it happens within 60 days). If she has been in the country for a while, it should be ok. Re: Naturalized citizen & visitor INS question
Naturalization doesn't automatically grant anything to a spouse, so I don't know what
"application" you are referring to. After getting married, follow the info here: http://www.ins.gov/graphics/howdoi/legpermres.htm especially the link for http://www.ins.gov/graphics/howdoi/LPRApplication.htm Joseph Gerald wrote: > Hi: I have my naturalization (for US citizenship) scheduled at the end of May.
