I just paid a visit to the INS office in Charlotte, NC with a friend of mine who's
filing for naturalization. It seems that the wait is now upto 2 years to get naturalized at the Charlotte office, so it doesn't matter if TSC (N-400) says "Current", it also depends on the processing backlog in your local INS office. So, if you are applying from Charlotte, NC you are in for a 2 year wait period. Neil |
It appears like the delay in kost cases is in many places is around 2 years. It's
interesting that website mentions that the national average processing time of 6/9 months has been achieved in October, 2000. There are a lot of people whose applications have been processed in 6 months. In many cases, old cases continue to be pending while new cases are completed faster. We wonder if there is any way to bring it to attention that an average one year processing time may be good for everyone instead of 6 months for some and 2 years for others. |
That is known as being fair and systematically organized. Do you expect this
from the INS? > > > > > > > |
