Default Naturalization Interview - It went will, but a big surprise..

My naturalization interview went very well today - The officer was
very nice, and he did not ask for many of the documents that I brough
with me. However, at the end, he handed me a piece of paper that said
" no decision can be made ", because he still has to request a file
from Missouri Service Center. I was told to go home and wait for the
decision throught the mail.

Has anyone had the similar experience before? And how long do you
have to wait in those cases? I am little concerned from reading the
posted message, in which cases people wait for years between interview
and oath appointment. Shoud I be worried?

Hmm, I would have thought your file would be kept at the National Records Center in Lees Summit, MO. It's around a 17 mile drive from the NBC, and is a fascinating facility (the mysterious "cave in Missouri"). I toured that facility in the fall of 02, and took some great photos inside the facility.

Ha! I don't think even Happy Gillmore using a Big Birtha (sp?) could drive it that far ;-).
