Naturalization Interview - Indianapolis
Received notice of Naturalization interview today which will be on November 14th in Indianapolis.
I'm trying to find out if Indy does same day oath ceremonies but cant find a definitive answer on the uscis website, even called customer services and all they'd say was it was at the discretion of the field office. Anyone been through this in Indy? I am sure I read somewhere that they do not offer same day oath ceremonies so my question is how long will the wait be between the interview and the ceremony? So far everything has gone surprisingly fast. N400 received 9.1. 9.28 biometrics taken. 10.10 notice of interview received. Interview will be 11.14 Compared to my previous experiences with USCIS this all seems too super swift (makes me nervous) so I am wondering if after the interview we're in for a long prolonged wait of months for the oath ceremony?? The current processing times for our field office is Jan 22nd 2017. Thanks all in advance for your advice. |
Re: Naturalization Interview - Indianapolis
I think the USCIS processing times are totally meaningless.
My experience in NYC was that the longest wait was by far between biometrics and interview (6-7 months for me). At my interview in early August the officer said my oath ceremony should be no more than 60 days from the interview and realistically would be in about a month. That would have been while we were overseas on vacation, so I gave the officer my vacation dates which she said she'd note in my file. I got my ceremony notice about two weeks before my oath date which was September 29th, which was about a week short of 60 days from interview. |

Thanks! So far we're only about 5 weeks into the whole process and already have the interiew dates. I am sure there'll be some kind of hideous wait time somewhere along the road though. Our GC's run out in 2018 so I hoping that we'll be done before that happens but who knows. How long is a piece of string........ :)

Re: Naturalization Interview - Indianapolis
If your interview is in November, I think there's a very good chance your oath ceremony will be this year, or sometime in January at the worst.

Can't say that in my 20 years of involvement in US immigration that I ever read of anyone failing the test. Doubt you will be the first. A guide of the test booklet/CD should do the trick for you.

Re: Naturalization Interview - Indianapolis
The interview/test was totally anti-climatic, USCIS want LPRs to become citizens.

Good luck! So about a three month lag or so (if you'd kept the Indy appt). That helps me put it in persepective and know what to expect. I knew we were going to have a wait somewhere along the line in this process. How was your naturalization interview easy peasy like people say? Good luck with your oath ceremony. |
