Default Naturalization

Interview for Naturalization on March,15 2008.
Gone out of U.S July 01, 2008.
Received Oath ceremony letter for Sep.15, 2008.
Informed Dist. office being out of country.
Requested Re- Scheduling for March, 2009
Entering U.S Feb.15, 2009. Stay out of U.S 7 1/2 months. Implications for Oath ceremony, as stay out of U.S is more than Six months.
Please advice.
Thanks.

As long as the 7-1/2 months combined with any other travels during the qualification period does not put you out of the US for more than 1/2 of the time needed to qualify or more than one year continuous time outside of the US, you will be fine.

Basically as long as you are not outside the USA long enough to change your qualification for naturalization, you should be fine.

Read the USCIS Guide to Naturalization to find out whether this trip outside the USA puts you at risk for qualifying.

In addition to being a Permanent Resident for 5 years (3 if married to a US citizen), you must also meet the "Physical Presence" and "Continuous Residency" requirements. If you are outside of the US for a long period of time, you *may* interfere with both of these two other requirements. If you interfere with either one of them, you will have to wait longer until you are eligible to become a US citizen.

As Rene suggests, read the Guide to Naturalization: http://www.uscis.gov/files/article/M-476.pdf.
