Default n-400 - Time frame between finger prints & interview

All-
Can anyone give me an idea of how long it is currently taking between fingerprints being done and the interview taking place for citizenship applications.
I applied through the Phoenix service center and live in LA.

I looked on the Trakitt program to get an idea but am curious about others ecperiences.

Thank you Kindly,

Thank you Kindly,
Lately, it seems the entire process takes about 6 months, from filing N-400 to interview.

In our experience, back in 2009, it was about 4 - 6 weeks between each step. So after the biometrics appointment, it was about 4 - 6 weeks to the interview date, and then 4 weeks later was the oath ceremony. This was in Phoenix, though...your experience in LA could be different.

I would just figure 6 months overall from N-400 to interview date, and not really count from the biometrics appointment.

I applied in late August and was a citizen by early December. That was back in 2009 and Phoenix also.

I had to look at my timeline to make sure. We had 4 months from N-400 to interview, plus one more month to oath ceremony, so 5 months total for us.

It will depend on how busy your local field office is.

Thanks all. It's looking at around 5.5 month total for LA. About 2 - 2.5 months between fingerprints and interview date from what i can tell.

Appreciate your responses.

I mailed off my N-400 on April 15th, had biometrics on May 7th (did an early walk-in), interview on July 18th and my oath ceremony one week later - yesterday!

This was the Charlotte, NC office.

BTW, L.A. [District 23] USCIS is now somewhat decentralized. Chatsworth covers SF Valley and points north, Santa Ana for Orange County, San Bernadino for the inland empire, and ever-loving 300 North Los Angeles Street for most of L.A. City. San Bernadino does N-400 in two separate offices which are close to each other. [The law firm I do "of counsel" work for had a husband & wife set for interviews on the same day and it was not until we got there that we realized it was in two separate locations!]

Also, the time for the prints to clear can vary. It can be something mundane as someone with the same name and date of birth who has had a checkered past which then causes delay.
