Default n-400 processing time in SF bay area

Greetings from San Jose applicant:

I filed in July '02, fingerprinted Nov '02. No word on the interview
yet. What has been your experience.

Thanks,
Andy

Add another 6 months after finger printing for your interview. In your case,
late May or early June, 2003.

Observer:
Thanks! I like the deterministic nature of your reply. Did you
recently become a citizen?
regards,
Andy

You're welcome. That's the current average timeline for N400 process. I hope
that there isn't any security check issue to cause delay in your
application.

Good luck.

I passed the naturalization interview last September (2002) in San Francisco District. BCIS is still waiting for FBI secondary background check. BCIS told me that they do not have control over FBI. Do you have any idea or experience how long this is going to take? Is there anything I can do to help? Thanks,

I filed N-400 at the end of Dec.1998 and was sworn in on Feb.2001. Had
my fingerprints taken twice in that period.

Call Senator Diane Feinstein or Barbara Boxer office for help.

Or the Congressperson for your district, who is not as busy. See
http://congress.nw.dc.us/rollcall/home/. Call the local office.
