Well, it has been 7 days since the return receipt was signed for and our check still has not been cashed

I've been following some recent threads and most people's checks are cashed within a day or two of receipt. Not ours Fingers crossed it will be soon.

Mine took over 8 weeks to be cashed - but it was at VSC November last year. Don't panic - there's a long journey ahead, if the 14 - 16 month USCIS (or slightly shorter) predicted dates are to be believed.
I had biometrics on 1st Feb and not a dicky-bird (nice one for Americans to look up) since!

My NOA took just over 2 weeks. The good news is that my biometrics appointment came the same day! I think I now have a long wait once the biometrics are done so like everything else it's just a matter of waiting it out.

I know, I know! Rationally, I know it's just a matter of time (days, or weeks, probably), so yours, AlanR's and Maggs's replies are consolation. But I still rail against the arbitrariness of this system.

We are in a bit of a hurry because my husband would like to apply for a job where US citizenship is a prerequisite, but luckily, he is working right now, we are all together in the US and in good health, so I can't complain. Others have it worse!

Understood - i have fallen to pieces on many an occasion waiting for checks to be cashed and receipts to be mailed!! The system does work - honestly! It just doesnt always work at the timescale we want!!

Check cashed on May 2, NOA received on May 12, Biometrics received on May 14 for May 22 appointment.
