Re: N-400 Citizenship Current Florida Timeline?
Yes, the best way to really keep track of what is going on to be honest is keep an eye on other peoples timelines in your area - either on this forum or others that are out there.
The USCIS dates are never very accurate.

Re: N-400 Citizenship Current Florida Timeline?
Appoint for interview received.. April the 1st... is this an omen I ask myself? Should I turn up in a clown outfit, like I did when I met the Queen? (I was 3, it was the silver jubilee, I wasn't getting a gong or anything).
I have some questions.. but I'll post them in a different thread :P

I am indeed processing via Tampa! I am a bit stunned at how quick its gone really. I'll be up in the attic getting every piece of paperwork relating to my immigration down for the trip up. I've also got my colleagues quizzing me on the questions

Titchski - you've got yourself a stalker LOL I'm watching your time line and comparing to mine. We got our Notice to have our fingerprints taken in the mail today, our appointment only being 7 days away. Now I see that your interview date is 1st April so I'm hoping that if we're on a similar timing to you we will get to do ours as soon as May..... that would be SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO amazing. We haven't even started looking at the '100 possible questions'. I'm sure after the fingerprinting is done we'll get into panic mode and start swatting. How are you doing with the questions?
p.s. why are you digging out your original immigration documentation....just for yourself or is it a requirement for the interview?

Here is the latest update for my timeline:
12/2/08: App sent
1/21/09: Finger prints done
2/14/09: Interview letter received for 3/23/09
3/23/09: Interview done (Fort Lauderdale, FL)
The appointment was at 9:45am so I arrived 10 minutes early just to wait for 2 hours. The interview itself was about 15 minutes long. I had a very sweet lady that essentially went through the whole file and verified all the information. Although I brought many documents, she didn't ask but for the green card and a proof of selective service registeration. She asked about 8 questions from the new test and had me read and write simple sentences. She then asked me to sign my photographs and write my name as I would like it to appear on my certificate !!!! Only then, I noticed that I have passed the test.. then she just crushed my euphoria when she told me that "Unfortunately the FBI didn't turn your fingerprints sheet yet, so you will not be able to pick up your oath appointment today, but we will send it by mail".. I was dissapointed and asked how long does it usually take and she replied "should not take much time".. I thought the check was already done before setting the interview appointment, but apparently that was not the case.. anyway, I guess I have to wait some more.. hopefully not for long...

No reason to be disappointed really - your timeline is so fast compared to how it was a year or two ago. Really seems like the disaster created by the overnight fee increase is well and truly a thing of the past now, and sub 6 months is the trend - which, if memory serves me correctly, was a stated aim of USCIS...

Re: N-400 Citizenship Current Florida Timeline?
Have any of you still been in the I-751 quagmire when filing the N-400? Filing the N-400 "forces" them to adjudicate the I-751, but I imagine this adds to the time it takes from filing the N-400 to being approved.

Re: N-400 Citizenship Current Florida Timeline?
I thought it was more a case of calling the I-751 paperwork forward for the N-400 interview.
I haven't seen anyone posting that overall N-400 took longer because I-751 was still pending.

Edit to add: Just a week on Wednesday and I'll be doing mine! One quick Q for anyone... I was over 26 when I got my green card so I'm assuming I don't have to take proof of registering for SS as I was over the top age limit and never registered?
