N-400
#1

After being a green card holder since 2009 I am finally getting around to applying for Citizenship. I have a question on the N-400 which seems silly but figured better to ask than fill out the form incorrectly.
One of the questions asks: Have you ever been a member of, involved in, or in any way associated with, any organization, association, fund, foundation, party, club, society or similar group in the United States or in any location in the world.
I am a licensed real estate agent so I am a member of 2 Associations which have to do with my business. The National Association of Realtors and the Orange County Association of Realtors. Would I include this information on the N-400?

I included all the associations I am affiliate to, including the American Nurses Association, the American Nurse Practitioners Association and the American Critical Care Nurses Association.

Read the question as posed. If you are or were a member of an organization include it. I listed the National Trust, trade unions I belonged to in the UK and the book clubs I belong to in NYC. The USCIS officer at my naturalization interview didn't ask me anything about any of them.

Thanks everyone, I guess I need to think about that question a little longer. I was a Realtor in Canada so I would have belonged to an Association there as well. Time to go digging through old files!

Finally got around to filing my N-400 yesterday. Filed it on-line and have received an estimated time frame of December (10 months). We are located in Orange County, CA I'm guessing our field office would be Santa Ana?

We filed 2 weeks ago, online as well. Our estimated time frame is August. Just got the biometrics appointments, 15th of March.

Just for some comparison, I filed my N-400 last April and had my oath ceremony yesterday, so my timeline was approximately 11 months.

How much notice do you usually get for the interview? I filed in November, did my biometrics in December, and am now in the holding pattern (estimated 9 months left).
I really don't want to start learning the civics questions until a couple of weeks before. I'll probably forget them if I learn them now and my interview isn't for months.

General comment on timelines. Processing times are slipping quite a bit. So, YMMV might apply more than ever.

Does anyone know the reason for the longer processing times for citizenship applications relative to the processing time for visa applications (h1-b for example)?
