Default my wife doesn't need ESTA on an L2 right?

Hey all

went to get an ESTA for my wife but after checking it looks like we don't need one if I am on an L1 and he is on an L2 VISA right?

Thanks,

no they don't need one.
FYI It may be that your airline won't let you check in online though, without one , so get to the airport in plenty of time

I might be helpful to think of an ESTA as the functional equivalent of a "visa." Technically speaking it does not fit within the statutory definition of a visa because it is not issued by a consular officer. However, like a "visa" it is an advance authorization to come to the port of entry and apply for admission.

So, one with a non-immigrant "visa" is not in need for any other US government advance permission to come to the US.
