I'm thinking its fine as the instructions say "about 1 1/4 inches".

another strange thing about these photos required when filing for AOS is that the I-131 and I-485 say that the photos should "not be larger than 2 x 2" and the I-765 states "not be larger than 1 1/2 x 1 1/2". I guess trimming all of the photos to 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" will cover me.

Just looking for reassurance being that I'm 1/4" short from the top of the head to just below the chin and planning on sending this package off tomorrow morning.

Don't stress over the pics. They aren't going to take a ruler out and measure them. Ours weren't exact either and they didn't bat an eye.
