Default Moving while I-751 being processed

I have seen a few people ask about this subject in the NG...After filing for
removal of conditions on a 2 year PR Card, what happens if you move before
they are finished processing it?

Well we did this. Filed for removal of conditions in Nov. 02. Moved across
the country in July 03. Sent in change of address for sponsor and
beneficiary. Received notice that conditions were removed (yes the notice is
forwardable) and told to report to our old local office to apply for 10 year
GC and a stamp.

We went to our NEW local office and they processed our application for a new
10 year GC and gave us a I-551 stamp in the passport...all this without a
hitch and they didn't even ask why we were filing at an office 2700 miles
away from our old office!

If you move after you file your I-751, don't try to have your file/case
transferred to your new office. I would think that would slow down or stop
the process. Just send in your change of address and wait for your notice
