If your job pays well and you're determined enough, then marriage isn't the only option, you can look at an investment visa. Granted it wouldn't get you there permanently (unless you can get the $500k mentioned above for a 'green card'), but it's another option at least.

That was my first thought too.

OP - you need to be aware that your if you manage to get a visa to live and work in the US (which is a big if) than your qualifications and experience in your field will mean zip. You will need to start at the bottom again and retrain.

Indeed he will. He will have to work as an apprentice to a journeyman for up to 4 years to become a qualified electrician.

The author of the same question is a guy and works as an electrician and you are talking about a girl? A normal desire for a guy that wants to move to Florida maybe he's already piled up a little money to study at the university wants to do everything himself and you all talk about a profitable marriage?
