Thanks for everyone's help so far... we are posting all our experiences on the kamya and other sites (see Rete's list) to "give something back" as I cannot get on here as much as I'd like to...

have another ? about the new Affadavit of Support... using the same Co-sponsor... can I use the same employment letter from him (he got two originals and they only took one)? It is dated January 23 and we won't be turning in our application until late April, but is the letter still valid? I've heard people say they are valid for 6 months or more, so I'm hoping this is true so I don't have to make the poor guy get yet ANOTHER letter... he's done so much already.

bey, I'm not even sure a letter is required for the I-864. Ours was not requested. Even if you add it in for good measure, you can make a good argument for it having at least a 6 month validity.

Thanks, M, you always reply-you're great! I'm sure once again I'm worrying too much about every little thing and I'm sure once again it will all be fine.. anyway, it does say on the instructions for the I-864 you need a current letter of employment and I assume the same applies for the co-sponsor. I'll just use the Jan one, it will only be 4 months old by the time I file everything so I'm sure we'll be good... plus, I hope to have a permanant job before the interview so it shouldn't matter anyway!

We included an employee letter with our I-864 when filing. I used the same letter since it was the same year, no increase in salary during that 6 month period and included a current paystub to substantiate my continued employment.
