Thank you all for the kind words. Here is how we learned of the approval:
The lady officer who was working on our case called Elise at home to get answers to a couple questions. Elise was still at work, so the officer called her at work and told her she was about to approve us but that she put N/A in 2 fields and that she needed a YES or a NO. These 2 questions: Are you and your fiancee related? LOL!!!, and have you been married before? Elise confirmed it was NO for both and the lady said 'Well, you guys are approved'. Needless to say, Elise was so ecstatic she could not focus on the lady telling her our case was going to NVC and then Paris...
We came very close to a RFE and consider ourselves very lucky to have been approved in 130 days. We expected to be approved soon because of the 2 recent Nov 25 approvals but we did not think it was gonna be so soon.
yesterday, I was about to send the forms to Paris with a cover letter saying we expect NOA2 soon. Glad I waited a bit, now I can tell them our case is with NVC. I'm still sending the DS-230 and OF-169 to speed it up so that they can send me an interview date as soon as they get the case from NVC.
Wow!!!! I am so excited! For all the newbies here, we did not have a lawyer help us, we never called NSC or BCIS to ask about our case and we never got in touch with Elise's congressperson. You only really need to do that if you are over the time frame they give you, I suppose.
My parents and friends had kinda given up on our case, thinking that the war and tensions between France and the US would delay everything. I never thought so and I was right! A few more weeks and I can be with Elise again and get out of this country where the recent situation has saddened and troubled me. Go USA! Go NSC!
