mensch - pack 3 question - address
So what's the deal? I consistently ask if anyone is going through Frankfurt, Germany, and no one responds ... now I'm looking through dejanews (or google groups, whatever it's called), and I see at least three people who recently said they are going through the Frankfurt consulate?? Are my posts not going through? Am I invisible? Being ignored? *sigh*
Anyway - I'm moving in a couple of months, but M has to send in one of his forms for the packet three. It asks for address he's moving to in the US, "if known." Is it okay to leave this blank? Has anyone done this before? We don't want to put my current address, because I don't want any forms or anything getting sent here. Or will he have the opportunity to change it again without causing a big hassle?
If any of you guys secretly going through Frankfurt, but possibly in denial about it still want to know what's in packet 3, let me know ... I could even send you the scans, if you're nice.

hi there,
i'm one of the secret frankfurt embassy users. me and my husband filed for
DCF in Frankfurt and are awaiting my immigration interview (sent packet 3 a
week ago).
they ask for the address because that's where they send the green card to.
at least for immigration visa. if you do the k1-visa, i guess the POE would
send your file to your district office and that's why they need the address.
IIRC you are being asked about the address again at the POE. so i would
leave it blank and maybe when your partner attends the interview you already
know the new address.
BTW: I love the word Mensch in your header. It's my husbands favorite german
word, too. he uses it all the time and also likes to swear at americans in
german.
take care,
Denise

I am not going through Frankfurt, but wondered if you had seen this website? It has people's experiences of K1, and other, interviews at various worldwide embassies.
http://www.kamya.com/interview/intro.html
I see six interview experiences from Frankfurt documented there.

Frankfurt isn't much different from, let's say,London. Maybe don't restrict
yourself when you ask simple questions and you might get more answers.

Since his fiancee is german I figured he is talking about that word as used
in the german language.
It actually means human being but is often used in the same way americans
say "d*mn" or other swearwords.

1. Has anyone left the address field blank in the packet 3, and
2. Is anyone here going through Frankfurt - this question is always ignored.
I didn't even mention Frankfurt in the title, so it should get read, and you people should answer me. ;D

I have seen it, but thank you for pointing it out to me again. The problem is there are only two recent experiences, and they're from last year. So I wondered if anyone had had any other experiences.
Thanks,

If you're talking to me, I have no idea what you mean. Mind clarifying?

First of all, I am a "she." ;D
Fiance is the "he."
And yes, I meant "mensch" as German, not Yiddish, and I think it's hilarious that Denise's husband uses it all the time. I picked it up when I lived over there. Heh.
Denise, thanks for your info. We are applying for a K-1. I didn't even know you could do DCF through Frankfurt. Oh well, too late now. :) Did you get your interview date yet? Where are you coming from (DE) and moving to (US)? Just curious.

Why don't you just put the US citizen's current address there?
If it changes before they get here, then they tell BCIS at the POE.
You are making far more of it than there is.

The point of ASKING was to KNOW if it was a big deal if we left it blank or if we should just go ahead and put my current address. Had it been answered, I obviously wouldn't have kept asking. Thanks for your response now, but there was no reason to get snotty about it.

My point is the consulate isn't going to send anything to your address
and you have nothing to worry about by putting your current address
there.
If they needed to send something to the US citizen's address, your
current address is better than no address.
