Default Los Angeles AOS Interview today

Just had our AOS interview this morning in LA. I have been using this site to check on experiences from other couples who have been going through the adjustament and I thought I should post mine now.....

There's no reason to be nervous or anxious for the interview. If your marriage is legitimate, than your interview will be just like mine.... fun!!!!

Couples, be prepare to answer:
- how, when and where you met
- know each other's phone numbers
- information about each other's family
- have pictures
- dates you moved in together
- when you got married
- who was at the wedding cerimony
- any reception after the wedding

Documents asked:
- our bank account statement
- medical insurance
- life insurance w/ spouse as beneficiary
- lease agreement
- taxes we filed together for 2005

It is NOT nerve wracking......
Just be relaxed, know each other well, be confident and have good interaction with the officer....
they are there to do their job and to validate the conditions you're apllying for your adjustament...
and most important....

Have fun...

Hi:

Congratulations on a good interview. Your description fits MOST, but not all interviews.

Out of curiosity, which room were you in?

Congratulations, Gus. Another approval is always a good thing ;-)

Just to follow up on the LA AOS. We had our AOS there about a month ago. Was an absolute breeze. We didn't actually get taken into a room (like everyone else) - the guy (who couldn't have been nicer) interviewed us at one of the stalls. The only question he actually asked us was how we met but it felt more like he was actually interested to know, as opposed to testing us. That's just how he came off. He took our lease, and our insurance and 401k beneficiary stuff with both our names on it and then he just went through our wedding album and engagement photos. Literally every single photo. I'm Scottish and my wife is half American, half Persian so I think he was more just interested to see all the kilts!!

Anyway it lasted about 10 minutes, he disappeared off, came back with the letter of approval and told me the green card would arrive by end of March. True to word it came about 2 weeks later. 3.5 months from initial receipt of everything until getting the green card. I'll never say anything bad about US beauracracy again.

Until I have to get my drivers license!!

Way to go Gus! Your message cheered me up a little.
Our interview was too easy. We were approved in about 10 minutes with
almost no questions asked. Then 6 hours later the other shoe dropped.
The office called and wanted me to send him more information. He could
not tell me exactly what he wanted or why he wanted it. I sent more
information yesterday which should arrive tomorrow.
We are now in yet another wait and see mode. My wife's passport is
stamped. She is totally legal for a year, but who knows when or if her
PR card will arrive. If we don't hear something soon it is back to the
word processor to everyone I can think of and an InfoPass appointment,
if I can get one.
I'm more than a little upset.

I have my N-400 interview in Los Angeles on June 1st and was under the impression that it was ok if I went by myself, is this true? My husband will have a hard time leaving work. Thnx.

Yes, you go by yourself... your husband is not required to attend, and the interview does not involve the USC.
