What was your travel pattern like? How often did you visit and how long were your visits for?

Probably like once every year or every two years, for a week or two. I think I've only been to the US at most 10 times in my life. Never overstayed (or even stayed very long) and never caused problems.

My employer is a huge US conglomerate which more likely explains the absolute number of people.

Do you know if any of your colleagues had their ESTA revoked? If so, you've found the common thread and it would still point to your employer.

Can’t recall if ESTA asked for employer? Else how would they link them? I guess if they had found employees working on VW-B they could have revoked, but you think they would also contact the company who would in turn tell employees...

I recall an Indian company got a massive fine for using B1’s as work visas...

Update here - on Friday I received an email asking me to submit my passport for "visa issuance". I guess this is it - it took very nearly 11 months.

No explanation, of course.

Great news! Your patience has been exemplary, more so than mine would have been in similar circumstances I am sure.
