Are attorney expenses paid for applying for a Green Card tax deductible?

It would seem to fall in the category of "legal expenses paid to keep your job". Without
the Green Card my current working visa would eventually expire and I would have to leave
the country and the job.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Are lawyer's fees for H-1b application tax-deductible too?

I got some responses on the us.taxes board. You can read them there. Not sure if they
apply to H1, though.
