Default I140, new LCA or B2/J1 visa?

Hi all,

My LCA was recently approved (after almost two years!). The LCA was based on a job description I no longer have although my current job function is somewhat similar and I work in the same company (I transferred from the subsidiary to the parent company).

I am ready to file an Immigrant Visa Petition (I140) and an Application for Change of Status (I485). Does the I140 have to be based on the exact same job description as the one used for the LCA?

Considering the processing time for the permanent residence process, it is very likely that someone's position would change during that time. What are the options then?

Starting a new LCA may not be an option as my H1 is valid for less than a year. Could filing for a B or J type visa be an alternative?

Thank you for your help.

FJ
