L2 Visa - Volunteering

Can my daughters volunteer on an L2 Visa? - Would that be classed as unpaid work..?

The sort of volunteering that teenagers tend to do should be okay.

Basically, it gets iffy if they were to volunteer for 'work' which others get paid for.
