L2 Visa and EAD travel query
Hi All,
Hope the weekend was great wherever you are.
I am in the process of moving to New York from London on L1A along with my wife on L2. We had our interviews at London Embassy last Wednesday where they were verbally approved and subsequently online status changed to Issued last Friday. Hopefully we will have our passports back this week.
I have spent considerable time on this forum to read experiences with EAD but still would like to clarify a query. I would really appreciate if someone with knowledge or actual experience can help us with this. I understand that she needs to be in US for applying EAD and immediately afterwards for biometrics (can take a bit of time). However, can she come back to UK until I receive her EAD in the mail ? As I understand current processing times are well over 90 days and more around 5/6 months which makes me worried about a significant gap in the her CV in the long term. If she can, she would be able to take up a job here in UK in the meantime before flying in as and when her EAD arrives.

Yes, she can return to the UK.
That's what I did. Flew into the US, applied for my EAD, flew back to the UK for 3 months.
Returned to the USA once my EAD had arrived.
Never got called for biometrics in the end.
