Default L2 visa documents

Hi there,

My husband will be applying for an L-2 visa and he has his appointment scheduled for this week. I have seen so many different lists of documents he needs to provide, I am a bit confused at this point.

We found one page that said to include "Original interview appointment letter and one copy " and "Interview appointment letter" - would that mean we have to provide both my appointment from months ago and the appointment my husband will be attending?

We also found a thing about "a copy of my visa application" - the thole thing is over 502 pages! I just took out the I-129 out of it?

So all in all - does my husband need a copy of my whole visa application? And does he need my original appointment letter?

Typically for dependent type visas like the L-2, he'll need his own interview appointment letter, your L-1 approval notice and your marriage certificate. Those are the main documents. If you are already working in the US, copies of your last two paystubs, a copy of your I-94 and/or visa, should also be taken.

I'm pretty certain he does not need a copy of your whole visa application and appointment letter.

I agree with fbf2006. He'll need a copy of either your valid L-1 visa or L-1 approval notice, and a copy of your marriage certificate.
