I get along well with people from CalTech. :)

That said, I find myself amused that when I see a question to which the proper response is to ask more questions many posters here jump to conclusions. I agree that there are questions which can easily be answered, but for many others, my professional training doesn't allow for that.

[As an aside, I would often get cases when I was in practice where a client came in for a second opinion when the other lawyer just jumped to conclusions without "digging." The first lawyer lost themselves cases that way.]

It is clear that professionally you know your stuff and it is taken with good grace when you say that our replies are but those of lay people. However, I would point out that in general the OP is also a lay person. I fear they may often get a little over excited when they see you admonish us.
