Default L1 to Green Card possible?

I heard that people on H1B visa can apply for green card. Is it possible to apply for green card while on L1 visa? Does my employer has to sponsor me? Is it possible to apply for GC without taking help from my employer?

Yes L1 visas can be used as a platform to apply for a green card, and in the
case of an L1A it is much better then an H1 since it does not need a labor
certificate making the process a lot shorter and since the requirements for
an L1A are alsmot the same as for the green card based on that category,
chance are usualy very very good, an L1B is about the same process as with
an H1 visa. Your employer must sponsor the aplication though, you cannot do
it alone.

You can apply for a green card while on an L-1 visa. Your employer would
need to sponsor you. The process is different if you are on a L-1A than an
L-1B

yes you can get a GC. No, you cannot do it independent of your employer UNLESS
you file under NIW. If you are not someone with exceptional ability,
outstanding researcher, blah blah, then your employer will have to file your
I-140.
