Default L1 to F1 from within US - processing time?

Hi,

I am currently on a L1 visa. Am looking at getting it transferred to
F1. Had a couple of queries:

- Since I would be applying for the change in status from within US,
how long does the transfer processing take?
- If the processing takes longer and my course start date arrives, can
I start my studies while still being on L1 visa status ?
- Since my studies would be full time, I would not be working in
parallel. How does that impact my L1 visa status?

Thanks in advance!

Depends on numerous factors. I'd guess, a couple of months.

As soon as you receive approval for F1 status, your L1 status ceases right away. you can onlyu have one status at a time
