Just got my greenie in the post!

...so pleased I am! (Except for the fact that in my picture I look like Morticia Adams just after she gets out of bed. (I imagine.)

Sympathy to all those out there that are stuck within the never-ending process... we were really lucky. Applied in Jul 08 and the beautiful GC hit my mailbox yesterday morning. Just over 7 months start to finish.

The letters LPR never looked so good!

Thanks everybody. It's a long old process, for some longer than others. But my hubbie said it's like having a good sh*t... you look forward to having it but once it's done, you forget all about it!

Sorry. That's probably not the most profound advice, and definitely not the most eloquent either, but I'm sure you get my gist.

Good luck to everyone else on their green journey.

Feels good eh ? 7 months is really fast !

Now the decision whether to carry it around with you as required by law, or lock it up at home, or do something in between..

Getting a replacement is reported to be a nightmare

I carried mine around with me for 15 years, until I decided to apply for USC, I was never asked for it once! Maybe that was because I had a usaf dependants card, not sure, but if you saw my green card pic, you would understand why I was pretty happy that I never took it out of my purse!
