Re: Just got H1-B confirmation
To be pedantic -- USCIS approved the "visa petition." The "visa" will be processed at the consulate.
The misuse of "visa" is common -- I've seem many a court decision that does that. But, IMHO, use of "petition" and "visa" as separate items promotes understanding and clarity of thought.

Re: Just got H1-B confirmation
I was thinking about using Belfast but the flight times don't allow for a single day visit from Aberdeen. I could maybe check Edinburgh.
I have already told my immigration attorney that I would like to use London. Don't know if I can change it.
Any help on what to expect would be appreciated as I should receive my pack from the USA this week sometime.

Last time I checked Edinburgh was a non-starter (think they only do stuff for US citizens).
Will be interested in how far out (or near) you get an appointment as I need to come back in January to get the visa inserted in my passport (was approved a couple of months back over here), as I have to travel to China early next year

Frustratingly, Edinburgh is definitely out.
I'm telling you guys, Belfast is where it's at. Make an evening of it and have a few swallies on the Golden Mile!
