Default Job Title Change on L1 visa

Hi All,

Before I go to the lawyers, just wondering if anyone has any idea what the process is.

basically my company is readjusting the job families - I am currently a "programer analyst", they are switching that to "Software engineer".

Will anything need done? My petition that I am now happily working on is under "programer analyst". My job role is not changing, just my job family.

Anyone have any ideas?

Dont sweat it.
I came to the US on one job title and subsequently changed twice either by promotion or by change of department. I had 2 renewals of my L1 each time with different job titles and neither were rejected. The lawyers and HR people who put the case to the Immigration Service seem to know how to get them passed.
It is to be expected that employees 'grow' within their companies as well as job titles change when departments re-organise themselves as they do from time to time.

Yeah, there's some latitude; I was formerly an "Application Support Specialist" and am now a "Business Analyst III", but it's because of a general standardization of titles within my department and none of the folks who had work visas are having any problems. It's not a signficant change.

thanks all

I spoke with the company immigration lawyer, she said that as long as the job description didn't change, no action was required.

If i change positions, all that will be required is an adjustment and it is pretty straight forward.
