Default j1 VISA IET (International employment and training company)

Hi,

I would like to take the opportunity to work LA. I work in IT support and am eligible for the J1 visa program and would like to go for 19 months. Has anyone used the www.jobsamerica.co.uk website which is a company called International Employment and Training (IET). Are they any good at finding me a suitable position and managing the process for me or is this too difficult to do and just a dream ?

Thanks

Mike

Just be aware that J1s have an uncanny habit of being kicked out of the US at the end of J1 status. So, if you think you might stay longer than 19 months, proceed with caution.

Yours is is US visas related post. Have you seen the US Visas forum on BE? I am going to move your thread over there where members and the public with knowledge and experience of J1s hang out.

Most of those sites are shite, the ones that you have to subscribe to, there no different from any other job site that you'll trawl through looking for work, and a company that's willing to sponsor.

And as someone already mentioned, J1's are a bit temperamental...and also getting harder to get.

Our company has used CICD in Seattle. I want to confirm that J1
approval is getting very hard. Also, a J visa is not for "work". If you
mention that you are going to work to the embassy staff, they will
reject your application out of hand.

Good luck

There are many of these agencies which are authorized by the Department of
State to sponsor J-1 trainee programs. You might consider shopping around.
Here you can access the whole list of J-1 trainee sponsors:
http://exchanges.state.gov/education...ut/catalog.htm

Here are some sites:

http://www.aiesecus.org/main/
http://www.allianceabroad.com/*ib/tr...trainee_01.htm
http://www.amscan.org/trscante*.html
http://www.aipt.org/prog_intl-*professionals.htm
http://www.cdsintl.org/tousa/p*dp.htm
http://www.councilexchanges.or*g/
http://www.interexchange.org/c*areertraining/index.html

By the way, the maximum duration of a J-1 trainee program is 18 months.
