Hi All

I am resident in the USA following marriage to a US Citizen via the I-129F route. I
applied for AOS/EAD via the Chicago office back in June and am just sitting back
waiting for things to happen.

My question is hopefully straightforward and just a matter of semantics. Is the INS
Registration Number requested on several non-INS forms I have seen (such as the FOID
application for the Illinois State Police) the same thing as my Alien Registration
Number (A# on all my INS related materials)?

Any answers to the INS Registration Number question are greatly appreciated!

As an aside for anyone awaiting their EAD appointment for a new card from Chicago, my
timeline is as follows:-

Sent AOS/EAD package June 13th 2001 Delivered June 14th 2001 Official Receipt Date
From INS June 15th 2001 Appointment to collect EAD September 5th 2001
