Default INS office atlanta

Hello,
Got a family member going in for citizenship test
next week. Has anyone been to this atlanta INS
office off Martin Luther King building?

How far from the train station?

If so, is it usually fully packed and did you come
in much earlier than your appointed time?

And did you take oath same day?

And any nearby touristic things to do for those
of us accompanying?

Thanks

Yes, I went there for citizenship test and interview in August of 2002. Fully packed, yes, I suppose so. The building is well used. There is a crowded line of people there at the open in the morning. There is then a large line in the lobby for those who aren't going straight back to a room for an appointment. There are quite a number of people in the interview waiting room and other rooms at any one time. The wait times are long.. it takes half the day for an appointment.

You should leave early to allow for morning commute Atlanta traffic jams all the way into downtown. It was a little slow on the freeway with construction cones and then after the offramp it was completely stuck traffic light by traffic light.

No, I could not take the Oath the same day because of bad news.. my file wasn't there at the office and didn't arrive for another 6 months or so.

Tourist things.. yes you can walk around the downtown district where the crowds are around the flagged sidewalks. Not sure you can get back into the building if you leave, however.

About the train: take a look at the website http://uscis.gov/graphics/fieldoffic...#anchor1658746 It does not mention getting there by train. Seems as though you will have to get to the building by bus anyway.

... which does indeed mention the train. The office appears to be about five minutes' walk from the Five Points subway station.

Get down at Marta 5 point train station
and go on Forsythe Street towards
Dr. Martin Luthar King Blvd. 77 Forsythe
street is at the intersection of
Forsythe and MLK.

Make sure to show the appointment letter.
Folks with appointment letters don't have to stand in the general appointment
line.
Go ahead of time and drop the appointment letter at the designated
drop box.

Sometimes Oath will be on the same day.
Otherwise it will probably happen wthin
6 to 8 weeks.
