My hubby to be and are really would like to relocate to the states, somewhere within the next 3-5 years. I am soon to be a teacher, and will have 2-3 years experience when applying. My husband does not have a degree, but will have 5 years experience at his current company, in a reasonably well paying job. We are unsure of what area we would like to relocate to, but are vearing more towards California, and so are both learning Spanish, as of this September, in anticipation.
I have several questions which I really hope someone can help me with:
1) Is California a realistic state to aim for? What other states are recommended?
2) I understand I will need to get teaching credentials for whatever state I work in, but what kind of visa will I be provided with, and is it possible to emmigrate fully after a few years?
3) Am I likely to even get a job?
4) What visa will my husband require, in order for him to be able to work also?
5) What restrictions may there be in us wanting to move to the states, all negative points will be appreciated!!
Many Thanks

Whats wrong now with Canada?
1. I think that should be is the US a realistic country to aim for. Have you thought about Florida? I hear the school system there could be improved.
2. An H, if your Employer sponsors you for a Green Card.
3. I certainly have seen it done, but a long shot, there was a post some time back, obviously you will be looking at Schools were nobody else wants to work and it also requires an Employer to be well ahead of the game in filing.
4. He would not be able to work, he would be H4.
5. Guess 4 might do it, have a look at Ray's link.
